PROJECT AIRLIFT: DAY TWO 🚁🌲🥾
Day Two of Project Airlift was all about teamwork — with volunteers working in three locations to keep this ambitious project moving!
One crew met Tuckamore Aviation at the staging area and coordinated the helicopter lifts. At the same time, another crew hiked to the top of Baldhead Mountain, where they prepared the dismantled shelter and latrine debris for helicopter removal using slings and Lift-It bags. Once the loads arrived back at the staging area, volunteers transported the debris to a nearby disposal facility.
Meanwhile, a third crew hiked into the site of Erving’s Hideaway near Kelsey Notch, where they received and organized the airlifted lumber and materials so construction of the new shelter could begin.
Three crews. Multiple locations. One big mission.
